Canterbury of New Zealand produced 1000 commemorative replicas of the 1905 Originals jersey in celebration of the centennial of the New Zealand Rugby Union. The Originals were the first New Zealand national team to tour Britain in 1905. The jersey has a genuine New Zealand quilted leather upper chest and shoulders with a lace-up plaquet, unique to that time period. The jersey body is 100% cotton. The right sleeve is embroidered in gold with the Canterbury of New Zealand logo and "WORLD-WIDE LIMITED EDITION XX-1000" (with the "XX" representing the actual number of the set). The box is imprinted with a frameable picture of the 1905 Originals. These jerseys have been used by rugby clubs throughout the world for auctions, fundraisers, and bar decor.
